How-to Guide: Generating Braintree API Credentials

1. Create a New API User

   1. Log into the Control Panel and select the gear icon in the top right corner.

   2. Select Team from the drop-down menu.

   3. Click the New User button at the top of the page, fill out the form, and click Create User when done. Make sure to:

      1. Allow API access

      2. Include all relevance merchant accounts

      3. Include permissions: "Download Transactions with Masked Payment Data", and "Create, Run, and Download Reports"

2. Get production credentials

   1. Log into the Control Panel as the API user.

   2. Follow the instructions in Braintree documentation to obtain:

      1. Production merchant ID

      2. Production public key

      3. Production private key

3. On Ledge, go to the Create new source page, click on the Braintree logo and fill out the form with the values above.
