# How-to Guide: Generating Mercury’s API Token

1. Login to your [Mercury](https://app.mercury.com/dashboard) account
2. Click on your name in the top-right corner of the dashboard to open the drop-down menu
3. Select **Profile** from the drop-down options
4. In the **Settings** menu on the left, find and click on **API Tokens**
5. Click on **Create an API Token**
6. Provide a name to help you identify the connection in the future (for example, “Ledge”)
7. Add the Ledge IP to the IP whitelist section: **34.231.208.110**
8. When prompted to select the access type, please make sure it is **'Read'** only access
9. Once the API key is generated, please copy the token, go to the Ledge [Sources](https://app.goledge.io/sources/add/bank) page, and follow the instructions
