# Agent Studio: Creating AI Agents

The Agent Studio is where you hand off manual close tasks to Ledge's AI agents. No code is required — everything is done through plain language conversation.

#### Getting to the Agent Studio

1. From the Close Checklist, use **Command+F** to open the search bar and find the task you want to automate.
2. Click the task to open the right-hand drawer.
3. If no agent has been created yet, click **Unblock Agent** (or **Create an Agent**) to open the Agent Studio.

#### Two ways to delegate a task

**Option 1 — Upload an existing working paper.** Share your current spreadsheet with the engine. It will analyze and reverse-engineer it, then reconstruct it in its own format so it can automatically roll that working paper forward in subsequent months.

**Option 2 — Start from scratch.** Let the engine build the working paper from the ground up based on the task. This is the most common path.

#### How the engine works (start from scratch)

1. **Auto-suggested prompt.** Based on the task name and your company's chart of accounts, the engine auto-suggests an initial prompt. For example, for a PTO accruals task, it might suggest: *"Accurately calculate and record PTO accruals for each department by utilizing employee balances and approved requests, and generate journal entries."* It will even identify the correct GL accounts from your chart of accounts on its own.
2. **Execution plan.** Before doing any work, the engine presents a transparent, step-by-step plan of how it intends to execute the task. It also shares any assumptions it plans to make and asks if you'd like to adjust or refine anything before it continues.
3. **Working paper generation.** Once you approve (or just tell it to proceed), the engine generates a complete working paper. A typical working paper includes:
   * Raw source data
   * Formulas (e.g., index-match, SUMIF, etc.) applied automatically
   * Results aggregated by dimension (e.g., department)
   * **Journal entries** mapped to the correct GL accounts pulled from NetSuite
4. **Create Playbook.** Once you're satisfied with the working paper, finalize the agent so it runs autonomously on schedule every period going forward — no manual intervention needed.
